Lauren Stephens has been riding and has had a passion for the equestrian sport since she was six years old. She was educated under notable trainers including Helen Goddard Grand Prix Contender, and Shelby French, Assoc Prof. of Riding and Dir of the Riding program at Sweet Briar College in VA.  As a recent graduate of Sweet Briar College, Lauren was involved in the schools highly respected riding program. She was a member of the IHSA team, and member of the Sweet Briar Jumper Team. Lauren has competed along the east coast including Ocala Florida, Culpeper Virginia, and the New Jersey Hits Circuits. Competing in the hunters, showing young horses in the baby greens, and also in the jumpers competing with her current horse at 3’ 9’’.

Through the years, success has come by creating working relationships with each horse that she rode and competed with. These relationships in addition to the basics and advanced technical aspects of riding have created a winning combination more times than not. As her idol George Morris, a world-renowned hunter/jumper rider and trainer once said, “Teach basics all the way to the Olympics. Without a firm grasp . . . a rider cannot excel at any level.”

Greg Andrews has been riding and competing for 15 years. Starting off in the Hunter ring, Greg moved into the eventing world. Training several off the track Thoroughbreds and competing them in the preliminary levels.

Greg emphasies good flat work and dressage. He strongly believes that, "What you have on the flat is what you receive over fences". Greg uses a soft, yet confident method to teach the horse to use themselves to the best of their ability. Working with Greg the rider will come to recognize that a harmonious horsemanship can be created.  The implementation of these methods between horse and rider will help both excel in any discipline desired, and the goals you have set forth for yourself.

The mission of The Magnolia Equestrian Center is to promote, and encourage riders of all ages to learn and improve in the sport. Greg and Lauren are committed to the mission for riders from beginners to advanced and will construct lessons to bring you to your desired level, leaving you satisfied and confident.
